Yellow Birch — Betula allenghaniensis
Distinctive peeling bark and yellow leaves in the fall, the yellow birch is the largest native birch tree. Unlike other birch trees, it can live a long time — up to 300 years. This tree does well in moist, rich soil and can tolerate some shade.
